"I went by myself, grandma couldn't go, so I went to receive the medal for
her. It was a nice ceremony, it is a shame that it was all in polish and I
couldn't understand anything.... shame on me that I never learned polish....
It was in the Polish Embassy at 13.00 hs and it was full of old people who
were prisoners in Siberia. It was super nice and emotional. Sadly I was
there alone, I couldn't understand the Ambassador's speech and my grandma
was not there.
They served wine, and typical polish "canapes" (don't know the english
word, something like delikatessen) and beverages. Then there was the
Ambassador and the Consul and the Ambassador said a speech and then the
Consul called everyone by name and the Ambassador gave each one a medal
and a little "certificate-book"
Here are the pictures.
After that, we all went to the beautiful garden to have some more wine and
beverages and some typical vodka.
Everything was super emotional and then I went to take the medal to my
grandma.
Well, that was pretty much what happened. If I remember anything else, i
will let you know"
