in Zabrze: “You have brought up polish cardiology to a decidedly Western
European level”.
The President of the Republic of
Poland visited the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases. On June 7 started
in Zabrze an international cardiology conference. This year it took
place on the 30 anniversary of the introduction of an optimal method of
treating the myocardial infarction (balloon angioplasty in heart attack)
in the Zabrze center, who was one of the first centers in Europe to do
that. It spread from here to the whole country.
- I am here as the President of the
Republic of Poland, to say “Thank You” in the name of all Polish People
– said President Andrzej Duda to the participants gathered in the Aula (Lecture
Hall) named after prof. Zbigniew Religa. (…)
- This is a holiday of polish cardiology – noted prof. Marian Zembala,
Director of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze. – In the
name of prof. Zbigniew Religa, who is not with us anymore, I want
to thank that 30 years ago dr. Waldemar Wajszczuk, who
is present here with us today, helped us to develop cardiology here in
Zabrze and in the whole of Poland. In their rich accomplishments is
also contained your passion, sacrifice and kindness. (these words
