Register (Metrical) Book entries concerning
Jozef Wajszczuk appear twice - in different Parishes, at the time married
to two different persons, several decades apart, but with his place of
residence in the same village(?) - therefore he was initially entered by
us under two different ID numbers, on the webpages of two different
Parishes. However, since his other personal data (i.e. his estimated year
of birth) are similar, (as well as his listed place of residence) - we now
consider the likelihood that this is the same person and the slightly
differing details of information could be caused by errors in the book
entries - we observed that phenomenon on several occasions. Below are
quoted the specific details of the book entries concerning Jozef:
1. Jozef appears for the first time in the
books of the Sitaniec Parish under the date of September 2, 1783
(our Lp. [ID] #35 in the excerpts from the Sitaniec Parish -

in a record of marriage of Józef Wayszczuk from
"Sitaniec-Wysokie" to Marianna Olszowa (Olejarzowa?).
This is the only entry found in this Parish concerning this particular
family, but the matter is complicated by the unavailabily of records from
the years 1786 - 1809. (Above information was initially placed by us on
the page:

and Jozef was assigned there the individual ID#1379). One other
record entry is also unclear - "...from Sitaniec-Wysokie" - perhaps at
that time both villages were considered to be one administrative entity,
since later on they have been always listed separately - we are planning
to check out this possibility.
The next entry in the books of the Sitaniec
Parish (several years later) concern already a different Wajszczuk family.
They are "Akta nr. 9 under the date of February 11, 1821 (our ID - Lp.#37)
and they concern "the wedding of Jakub Wayszczuk, age 21 - son of
Stanislaw and Teresa Wayszczuk - farmers from Wysokie (birth certificates
from Wysokie) - with (Miss) Marianna Pilewicz(owna) - age 23, daughter of
Jakub and Ewa nee Lepczyk, spouses Pilewicz - farmers from Wysokie
(bride's birth certificate from the Sitaniec Parish):

2. Jozef appears again, this time in the
books of the Nielisz Parish and is mentioned in "Akta #32 dated
November 13, 1836" as a father of Wojciech, as taking part in his
second marriage ceremony (our Lp.#30, Nielisz Parish) - "marriage of
Woyciech Woyszczuk - widower age 45 - weaver residing in Wulka
Niedzieliska(?), but born in Sitaniec, son of Jozef and Klara nee
Relei, spouses Waszczuk, farmers from Sitaniec with (Miss)
Marianna Gruszka(owna) - age 30 - she does not remeber her parents, they
died when she was a child". (This information was initially entered by us

and Jozef appears there under the assigned ID#1391). Klara, nee Relei is
mentiond here as a wife of Jozef and mother of Wojciech, living in
Sitaniec and Wojciech as also born in Sitaniec! Mis-spelling of the last
names calls particular attention - Jozef and Klara are entered in the
records as "spouses Waszczuk" and their son Wojciech is registered as "Woyszczuk".
Based on the comparison of the information
cited above, it appears that this is the same Jozef, but in the second
entry (several years later), he probaly had already a second wife (who was
also the mother of Wojciech)? Since the records from this time period are
missing, this assumption may never be confirmed. In the meantime, we have
decided to integrate the above pieces of information, assuming that this
was the same Jozef (while preserving the two individual ID numbers, i.e.
#1379 and #1391, in case we come in the future across new information to
the contrary, which may suggest that these were two different individuals).
